Fortune Telling : carrying no worth !

Assalam-o-Alikum

Fortune Telling was advertised alot during this cricket world cup... TV Channels were hosting dedicated programs for it... As a Pakistani, I am upset about the Pak-Ind match results, but as a Muslim I am happy... Many of the muslims had started trusting in fortune telling... Muslims were telling me The jotichi in Bangladesh said Pakistan will win, Indian Jotichi said Pakistan will win.... Alhamdulillah... The knowledge of the unseen is only with Allah... Fortune Telling gives nothing, infact it stops us from gaining the sawaab for our 40 days prayers... Their are numerous hadith which proves that even the Prophet Mohammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) did Not had the knowledge of the unseen... He (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) had knowledge of the things which Allah have told him, nothing more than that...

I am copying a nicely written article by one of my friends below... JazakAllah... May Allah help us all

Surely Allah knows the best....

Fortune Telling : carrying no worth !

With the peak drama of media on the both sides, before yesterday`s Pak-India  Semi-final, not only Cricket experts were giving their opinions, and fighting the battle on air, but many other stakes were also highly involved

A great trauma, and hype was created by the media, a great psychological influence was created on the hearts and minds of millions of Pakistanis and Indians, about the match through various ways and modes. particularly by showing past-records, songs  and stuff

Some channels and politicians of both sides, further labelled Match as " The Third World - War. " .While Cricketers on were trying to stay cool, expressing their feelings, and reminding everyone that Cricket was merely a  game, one has to win, other has to lose.

With high sentiments, sadly many people started going to Fortune - Tellers, and plamist to know as whose going to win match. Several of them were on aired by Media, in different talk shows, including the very famous  " Mamu ", who too predicted that Pakistan would win, and stars were in favour of Pakistan. some saying " Green " colour belongs to wednesday and to Pakistan, so victory is obvious. Some nuts, killed " parrots " across the border for predicting Pakistan`s victory, which was really hilarious.

Many people, relying on Fortune -tellers, invested heavy amount on Pakistan`s victory in gambling rather " Satta bazi " . and several Channels started preparations of Pakistan`s Victory by making new sets, and changing their transmissions into " Cricket Live " and " Super Eye " . People left God asides, and believed more in these tellers.

With the defeat of yesterday`s match, Allah revealed the  real "Aukat"  - status  of all these so called fortune-tellers, and showed them and the whole nation their worth and their zero knowledge of future . . But People are very  heedless. .. they won`t still understand.

Revealing the real and the absolute knowledge only belongs to Allah(Swt) . No has no knowledge of Future ; though they might get to know certain information, but that info is also uncertain and unauthentic and merly a chance.   the last and final book from God Almighty , the Glorious Quran says

"Say: None in the heavens and the earth knows the Ghayb (Unseen) except Allaah"
[al-Naml 27:65].

which has been testified everytime since the man first put his foot on earth till Yesterday`s match.

Going to Fortune -tellers, and Magicians is not only prohibited by Our Creator, Our Cherisher, the Substainer, But carries a great sin. .

People might ask why ? well the answer to this is Our Creator knows whats best for us. and logically if we think, suppose somone want to become a doctor, he loves  medicine, and he goes to a fortune teller, who says, you are most likely to get kicked off from your university in 3rd year of Medicine, and your life would be get ruined, so don`t go for Mbbs.  now he`s most likely to  get totally confused, and helpless. or suppose if someone says, he`d die in nearby.. .

he would get in distress and depressed after listening to unwanted expectations.

sadly today, the muslims , who are far away from the real teachings of Islam, yet go to fortune-tellers, and palmist. and practice and learn magic. a large numbers of people going and practising this consists of women. which should be stopped. Hazrat Omer (R.A) would execute the magicians in his era.

There are many ahaadeeth which state that this is haraam, such as the hadeeth narrated from Safiyah bint Abi 'Ubayd from one of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who narrated that he said: "Whoever goes to a soothsayer and asks him about something and believes him, his prayer will not be accepted for forty days." (Narrated by Muslim in his Saheeh).

Qusaybah ibn al-Mukhaariq said: "I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: 'Al-'ayaafah, al-tiyarah and al-turuq [kinds of augury] are all part of al-jabt [witchcraft or idolatry].'" This was narrated by Abu Dawood with a saheeh isnaad. Abu Dawood said: Al-'ayaafah, al-khatt and al-turuq are all kinds of augury, whereby a bird is released and is watched to see whether it flies to the right or to the left. If it flies to the right it is taken as a good omen and if it flies to the left it is taken as a bad omen. Al-Jawhari said: al-jabt is a word which may be applied to idols, soothsayers, magicians, astrologers etc.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever seeks knowledge from the stars is seeking one of the branches of witchcraft…" Narrated by Abu Dawood with a saheeh isnaad.

It was narrated that Mu'aawiyah ibn al-Hakam said: "I said, 'O Messenger of Allaah, I am still close to the time of Jaahiliyyah [i.e., I am new in Islam]. Allaah has brought Islam to us, but there are among us men who go to soothsayers (fortune tellers).' He said, 'Do not go to them.' I said, 'And there are men among us who practise augury [watch birds for omens].' He said, 'That is something which they make up. Do not believe them.'" (Narrated by Muslim).

It was narrated from Abu Mas'ood al-Badri that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade the price of a dog, the fee of a prostitute and the payment of a soothsayer. (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim).

It was reported that 'Aa'ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: "Some people asked the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) about soothsayers. He said, 'They are nothing.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allaah, sometimes they say something and it comes true.' The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: 'That is a word of truth that the jinn snatches and whispers into the ear of his familiar, but they mix a hundred lies with it.'" (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim).

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever comes to a soothsayer and believes what he says, or has intercourse with a woman in her back passage, has nothing to do with that which has been revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)." (Narrated by Abu Dawood).[ There are several other haadiths as well ]

… The scholars have stated that it is haraam to deal with such matters or to go to find out about them or to believe in them. It is haraam to pay them money, and anyone who is suffering from any of these things must hasten to repent from it.

Hence anyone relying on fortune -tellers, and loosing your believe in God  is like denying God. .

Had  fortune telling being so authentic and strong, they themselve would have become Presidents, and Prime Ministers of different countries but we find them nowhere, rather on roads, and in tragedies . they themselves don`t know whats going to happen with them the next moment. Who are they to predict about others  ?

Earlier , the one we won against Sri-lanka, , Sri _lankan magicians had done a great magic on pitch and wickets for their victory. did it work ? absolutely not !
